Hamster Roomba vacuum
Behold the hamster ball Roomba. It features arches, buttons, wheels, and different shades of grey, white and black. The hamster ball Roomba required cutting, and shrinking of many different shapes in order to make the panels and different functions clear to the viewer. It took me about an hour to make, and I am proud of it. The only thing that makes me a little sad is the lack of hamsters in tinker cad.

behold, sussy boi mcgee. the most 2022 stature ever to be sculpted by a millennial.
It is the best paperweight because it is made up of lightbulbs and stars, plus sir Lenny. I chose the objects that I did because they make the paperweight have lots of curves.

Dazzling Blorr-Robo. Rapa Nui never looked more dapper.
Behold, Salty boi. The best salt shaker. It is a gun that shoots salt. The gap is for refilling the salt.
Slap of the bat beat- Ellie Serben
The feedback I got for my objects were that they needed a background. I am still unsure of how to make a background but there is an idea. So, for a background I added a title, and some skulls for 'aesthetic'. It would be cool if I could colour it.

Assignment: Papercraft Research
Assigned: Monday, Oct 24
Due: Monday, Oct 30 @ 11:59PM (midnight!)
Sculptures Hand-Cut from Single Sheets of Paper by Nahoko Kojima
Migration
1.) Printable Crest with grey tabs
Behold the first part of the prototype. This version was going great until the exacto-knife sliced through a ruler that my left hand was holding.
Okay, this versions better. It was cut using a laser cutter.
This is a small simple crucifix, but it works for this assignment since it needed to get done in less than 48 hours. The only struggle with this assignment was the glue, the tabs just wouldn't stay glued, Jesus is fragile
Idea 1) Zephadia icon themed paperweight
Idea 2) Viorel vipuri butterfly
1.) For each of your five concepts and evaluate them based on the following criteria:
a.) Function - how does this object function? Is is successful in doing so?
it is a small paperweight
b.) Form - what are the aesthetic qualities of this object?
shape and form
c.) Self-supporting - is this object self-supporting? Will it print without support material?
Yes
d.) 3D Printability - Is this 3D model water tight and ready to print? What is its likelihood for success in printing?
It is not a very complex object so it should be able to print without difficulty
2.) Choose the most successful concept based on this criteria, and create a 3d-printable model in rhino. Your object must be a CLOSED SOLID POLYSURFACE.
3.) The printed object must fit within a 3 inch (x) by 3 inch (y) by 5 inch (z) box
4.) Simulate the 3D print your final design in PrusaSlic3r software.

I enjoyed the making of efficient yet also simple objects. I know my objects were more simple than other students objects, however I love my projects all the same. The making of the butterfly was favorite. It was my first time getting to make my own psychical merchandise! I am excited to do this again in the future.
The papercraft assignment was innovative and challenging. I felt a little sad I wasn't able to make the military crest like how I originally hoped. The cross was far more simple and it took less time. However with my thumb being wounded I needed simple, just so it would be psychically easier. Psychically, the cross is not a lot, but personally it relates to my faith and my family, to me simple shapes can have bigger meanings than one might expect.
